According to him, if doctors continue to dance to government’s tune, they will end up ‘killing’ the ordinary Ghanaian who cannot afford high cost of health care delivery in the private sector.
Doctors withdrew Out Patient services on Thursday, July 30 as the first step to their mass resignation from the public sector, accusing government of ignoring their calls for proper conditions of service.
The doctors on Friday withdrew their services for emergency cases as they begin the second phase of their mass resignation process.
Though President Mahama has hit back at the doctors saying he will not spend beyond the budget, Mr. Kokofu on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen Friday urged government to at least draft a document for the doctors as far as their conditions of service is concerned in order to allow them work without any interference.
“Both government and the doctors should stop playing politics with this strike because it is getting out of hand,” he said.
