Kwaku Boateng aka ‘Mawuli’ reportedly stormed the Ahafo Kenyasi Police station with frightening bruises all over his body, especially the upper part of his body, on Friday.
The victim, reportedly, mentioned the names of those who tried to kill him to the police and this had led to the arrest of three people, believed to have a hand in his ordeal.
The people who had so far been arrested by the police included Kwaku Manu, 45, Felicia Adusei, 40 and Kenneth Obinim, 18, and they are assisting the police in investigations.
Reports indicated that more people, who are believed to have a hand in the near-killing of the victim, are still at large and the police are doing everything possible to nab them as well.
Nhyiraba, who is a broadcast journalist, said Kwaku Boateng told the police that his attackers accused him of stealing a pig so they pounced on him and dragged him to the outskirts of Ahafo Kenyasi Number 2.
Kwaku Boateng said his attackers then beat him for several hours, rendering him (Kwaku Boateng) very weak in the process, as he lay motionless on the ground, panting for breadth.
He alleged that his attackers then poured petrol on him and set him on fire, but he managed to douse the fire after his attackers who thought he had died, had left the scene.
He said he lay at the crime scene for almost five days, unable to do anything, noting that he fully regained conscious on Friday so he proceeded to the police station to report the case.
Nhyiraba said Kwaku Boteng is currently receiving treatment for his deep wounds as the police intensified investigations into the disturbing matter.
