The Mayor was not happy with the unhygienic nature of their trading surroundings and the apathy they continue to show to the cleaning exercise.
The National Sanitation Day, which took off today, started on November 1, 2014 as a nationwide cleaning activity to be held simultaneously across the country.
In a strategic move, the exercise is now hosted by one of the 10 regions, which according to the Local Government Ministry is aimed at providing an opportunity for the ministry to know the peculiar environmental challenges in the host regions in order to deal with them adequately.
Luv Fm's Erastus Asare Donkor who joined the sanitation day in Kumasi on Adom News said the mayor hopes the move will help to crack the whip of lawless people and also utilize the sanitation courts to ensure sanity in the city.
